Plus Vocabulary
(2000)
Virginia McKinney
These
800+ illustrated worksheets focus on 1,000 basic words to help students
develop English vocabulary skills. They will be presented as printable
documents on CD-ROM. Teachers will appreciate the ability to print
only those sheets needed rather than having to inventory loose paper
products.
Study or pracatice materials
begin with pictures and written words. Students write the target
words (with written and fingerspelled models), complete a hidden word
puzzle, and alphabetize words (in 3 levels of difficulty).
With the aid of a function word sheet, the target words are placed in
English sentences where key words are accompanied by illustrated signs,
and the sentences are supported by separate illustrations.
Test materials ask students
to match words with familiar illustrations, write words into sentences,
spell the words below illustrations and again in sentences.
Illustrations are clear and
familiar to those who use the popular Picture
Plus Dictionary.

Exercises for the Young Adult
2nd Edition
Dorothy McCarr
Vocabulary Building Exercises
for the Young Adult is designed for students who need to build useful,
meaningful vocabulary to succeed in everyday living. The author has
developed the lessons for teenagers and adults who are reading at below-average
levels. Young adults with limited reading ability gain courage and confidence
when they complete the worksheet exercises and then apply more meaning
to current reading materials.
The vocabulary words included
in these reproducible worksheets were originally submitted by students,
who gathered them from newspapers and magazines that are accessible
to most young adults. The students encountered these words but did not
understand them.
